Bahamas Requires Negative COVID-19 Test for International Travelers

As the Bahamas readies to resume international travel on July 1, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation is outlining safety protocols for visitors entering the country.

All incoming travelers must present a negative COVID-19 swab test, with results no more than 10 days old. For those arriving after July 7, results can be no more than seven days old.

They must also complete an electronic Health Visa prior to departure at travel.gov.bs where they will upload their test results and provide contact information crucial for contact tracing purposes. An automated response will be provided which must be presented upon arrival.

Upon arrival at airports and seaports, visitors must undergo temperature screenings and wear a face mask. Travelers who show symptoms of COVID-19 “may be transferred to an area away from other passengers for further testing and evaluation.”

During Phase 2, hotels, resorts, and vacation rentals will follow extensive health and safety protocols. At restaurants, seating will be arranged to accommodate for physical distancing of guests and buffets will be discontinued until further notice.

Bahamas tourism officials said Phase 3, beginning on July 13, will allow for the reopening of attractions, excursions, and tours while Phase 4, beginning on July 27, allows for vendors and Jet Ski operators to resume operations.

Airlines resume service
Delta Air Lines will be relaunching its twice-daily flights from Atlanta to Nassau on July 2, and American Airlines will resume flights to Nassau and Exuma on July 7.

United Airlines will be resuming daily service from Houston to Nassau on July 6, followed by Denver to Nassau Saturday flights on July 11.

Southwest will resume daily service between Baltimore and Nassau on July 1.

JetBlue will resume daily service between New York (JFK) and Nassau as well as Fort Lauderdale and Nassau on July 2.

On July 2, Air Canada will restart flights from Toronto to Nassau.
