Carnival Corp. Sends Two More Ships to China
Carnival Corp. will send two more ships to China in 2016, making it the first cruise line to operate six ships in the country. Costa Cruises and Princess Cruises will each add a ship to China next year—Princess’s Golden Princess will sail out of Tianjin and the Costa will debut its new ship, the Costa Fortuna, out of China. With the move, Carnival will be able to offer about four million passenger cruise days in the country in 2016.
“Our Costa and Princess brands are performing extremely well in China, and these new ship deployments will strengthen our growth position and enable us to carry nearly one million passengers in 2016,” said Alan Buckelew, chief operations officer for Carnival Corp.
