Five More of the Most Anticipated Hotels Opening in 2022

After spending the better part of last year restricted from meaningful travel, people have spent this year dipping their toes, first with domestic trips, and then, as borders and restrictions eased, internationally. As we enter 2022, hospitality companies say this has encouraged people to take transformative trips.
And consumers are spending more as they do, with today’s affluent travelers shifting from a ‘box checking’ mindset to a ‘traveling well’ mindset, taking a more thoughtful, intentional approach to trip planning, according to Chris Gabaldon, senior vice president of luxury brands for Marriott International.

St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya, Mexico
Expanding its footprint in Mexico, St. Regis is expected to debut The St. Regis Kanai Resort in 2022. Located in the Mayan Riviera, the resort will feature a sophisticated design that boasts ocean views from every vantage point, with plans that call for 124 guestrooms and suites, as well as 32 exclusive villas with private pools.

100 Princes Street, Edinburgh, Scotland
Red Carnation Hotel Collection will debut its newest property in June 2022 on Edinburgh’s most famous street. Housed within a restored historic building, the boutique space with views of Edinburgh Castle. Interiors are inspired by Alexander McQueen and feature custom-made design features include tartan designed by Araminta Campbell and a central staircase that features a hand-painted mural by Croxford & Saunders, honoring the adventures of several great Scottish explorers.

Fairmont Windsor Park, Englefield Green – Egham, UK
Escape from London’s hustle and bustle at this 40-acre English countryside estate, located on the edge of historic Windsor Great Park and within an hour of London. Enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea experience at the Orchid Tea Room, which gets its name from the original owners of the mansion house who collected orchids from around the world and displayed them in this room. The sprawling hotel will celebrate its grand opening on January 1.
