The Korea Tourism Organization returned to Seatrade for the first time since the global COVID-19 pandemic shut down most international travel. The organization’s appearance at the world’s largest cruise industry event followed the reopening of the country’s borders to fully vaccinated travelers on April 1.
“At KTO, we are always delighted to meet our cruise partners,” said Jaesok Park, executive director of the Americas, Korea Tourism Organization. “Seatrade is the perfect opportunity to showcase Korea’s state-of-the-art cruise ports. Korea is an ideal destination to visit by cruise ship where guests can discover our rich traditional culture, captivating landscapes and world-renowned cuisine.”
At the organization’s tradeshow floor booth, representatives answered questions about the country and its cruise capabilities, while others hand-painted fans for attendees to take home. A private lunch was also organized with members of the cruise industry where each port had the opportunity to present their destination and provide useful updates.
This year’s Seatrade welcomed more than 8,000 attendees and more than 1,350 cruise line representatives.
