MPI Rethinks Changes to CMM Certification

Meeting Professionals International took a step back from a proposed revamping of the Certificate in Meeting Management (CMM) program after members complained that the changes “diluted” the value of the certification. The revised CMM certification now requires seven to 10 years of experience in the meetings or business travel industry; three to five years management experience, with two years of profit and loss responsibility; and a letter of recommendation. Applicants also must develop a business case in which they apply what they have learned. Going forward, the program will be supported by both MPI and the Global Business Travel Association.
