Refund.me Group, the passenger rights travel technology company, launched Refund.me Business Solutions, a B2B web portal that provides worldwide automatic processing of business air-travel compensation claims.
The new portal, which operates on a performance fee basis, is designed to meet the needs of travel agencies, corporate travel managers, and consolidators.
The portal streamlines the claims process, removing the cost and hassle associated with securing compensation for business travelers affected by lengthy flight delays, cancellations, and missed connections covered by the European Union’s Regulation 261/2004.
The law applies to any flight departing from an E.U. member state. It also applies to flights from other countries to an E.U. member state that are operated on an airline based in an E.U. member state.
Under the regulation, an estimated 11 million people per year are eligible to share in €5.5 billion in compensation for flight disruptions.
Compensation ranges from €250 to €600 (about $285 to $683), depending on the nature and duration of the disruption.
But the process is complex, and airlines often dispute the claims, leading to costly legal wrangling, so many passengers abandon their quests for compensation.
