Princess Cruises will adopt its Ocean Medallion technology to three more of its ships—Royal Princess, Crown Princess, and Sky Princess—starting Feb. 17, 2019.

The OceanMedallion, a piece of wearable technology that Princess introduced last year, holds a guest’s information so that crew members can identify them during the sailing. The technology allows guests to open their cabin, make payments, and embark and disembark all through the a small pendant that can be worn on a wristband, a necklace, or kept in a pocket.

Princess will first expand it to Royal Princess on Feb. 17 followed by Crown Princess in July and then Sky Princess in October. Royal Princess will be the first Princess Medallion Class ship to be sailing in Alaska.

“Guests are finding their vacations enhanced with Princess MedallionClass on Caribbean Princess as a new and memorable experience, and we’re ready to offer these experiences and personalized services to even more of our guests, including everyone who sails with us in the Caribbean in the fall and winter,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises.

Included in the OceanMedallion expansion is MedallionNet, which Princess boasts as the best WiFi at sea.
