Small Luxury Hotels Of The World Introduces Four Hotels In New Destinations

by Jessica Montevago / March 07, 2017

Small Luxury Hotels of the World added four hotels to its portfolio in new destinations. The properties include two retreats in Iceland, a historic gem in Armenia and an island hide-away in Nicaragua.

Hotel Ranga is located in Sudurland, Iceland, one of the world’s best spots to view the aurora borealis. To highlight its surroundings, the luxury log cabin features glass windows, outdoor geothermal hot tubs with views of the active Hekla volcano, and 51guestrooms with river or volcano views. Iceland’s latest luxury hotel was also added. Each of the Tower Suites Reykjavik’s eight rooms, located on the 20th floor of the high-rise, provides panoramic views of the ocean, Mount Esja and Snæfellsjökull glacier.

Guests staying at the Grand Hotel Yerevan are in the heart of Armenia’s ancient cultural heritage, in one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. The 104-room hotel offers a modern spa, outdoor pool and an on-site Italian restaurant.

Also new is the Yemaya Island Hideaway & Spa. The property has 16 eco-chic ocean suites, complete with decks overlooking the sea and hot stone-walled showers with locally made coconut-oil bath products. Guests can take yoga classes bordering the jungle or on a wooden pavilion overlooking the sea, dine at the casual open-air restaurant or enjoy a spa treatment featuring clay-mud therapies, chocolate and honey masks, and banana sea salt scrubs.
