Members of Travel Market Report’s agent advisory board met this week at Universal Orlando’s Portofino Bay Resort to talk about the potential impact that coronavirus will have on the travel industry.
TMR was joined by Jennifer Wilson-Buttigieg of Valerie Wilson Travel; Richard Vanderlubbe of TripCentral,ca; Sandy Anderson of Riverdale Travel; Theresa Scalzitti of Cruise Planners; Christen Perry of Classic Travel Connection; Bryan Shilling of AAA; LuAnn Lisell of Lisell Travel; Shawn Friesen of Expedia CruiseShipCenters; Jenny Cagle of Elm Grove Travel; Leo Sgovio of Markham Cruise & Travel Center; and Suzanne Harbison of Nexion.
“We need to help set the context. I was down in DC for leg day last week and advisors and lawmakers are very concerned that is going to impact jobs long term,” Wilson-Buttigeg said.
“We probably have to look farther out in the year – now is the time to redirect them to Alaska or Hawaii or something else,” Scalzitti said.
