Want to Know the Commission Payment Schedules of FIT/Packaged Vacation Tour Operators?

Trying to determine when your commissions will arrive is one less worry if you have a reference list on hand. Photo: Shutterstock

Each supplier in Travel Market Report’s recent FIT/Packaged Vacations Report Card for Travel Advisors has their own schedule for paying commissions, and they vary quite a bit. With that in mind, coupled with all the things travel advisors already need to juggle, we have once again created a handy reference guide featuring the payment schedules of 20 tour operators who package independent tours or itineraries.

This list is one of many policy summaries that can be found in Travel Market Report’s easy-to-use supplier report cards. For more information on topics such as familiarization trip policies, agent referral programs, direct marketing and more, download a copy of our FIT/Packaged Vacations Report Card for Travel Advisors.

When asked what their schedule is for paying travel agent commissions, this is what suppliers had to say:

African Travel – Paid one week after the client’s departure.

Apple Vacations – Paid after the booking has traveled, usually within 10-14 days.

Authentic Vacations – After the client’s travel has been completed, commission checks run once a week.

Avanti Destinations – The week of the U.S. departure date.

Bedsonline/TravelBound – Paid to agencies twice per month.

Blue Sky Tours – Paid 6-13 business days after departure.

Brendan Vacations – Depends on the agreement with the consortia partner.

Eurobound – Paid upfront when the travel documents are finalized.

Europe Express – Paid within 30 days of the departure day of booking.

Funjet Vacations – Paid 6-13 business days after departure.

GowayTravel – As soon as full payment is made.

Journese – Monday through Sunday departures are paid on the following Thursday.
