Bravo Launches Adventure Travel Reality Program

Bravo Launches Adventure Travel Reality Program

Add the Bravo cable network to the list of media extending its brand directly into reality travel TV. This spring, “Tour Group” follows a group of American travelers (and their personal drama) over a two-month adventure trip led by three “guides.”

Better known for its “Real Housewives” franchise, Bravo premiered “Tour Group” March 1, and broadcasts it every Tuesday night at 10 EST. The show took a brief hiatus and returned in May.

Following the expected “soap opera” reality-TV format, the show follows 11 travelers, guided by TV personality and tour leader Brandon Presser; the “worldly culture expert” and former Bond Girl and travel adventurist Rachel Grant; and fashion model-turned-travel-expert Sandhurst Miggins.

If your customers are watching, they’ll be joining the group to exotic destinations in six countries, including Rwanda, Kenya, the Maldives, and Morocco. There won’t be any “typical” tour destinations, like European museums and cathedrals.

A recent Washington Post article described the show: “Derivatives and dramas aside, ‘Tour Group’ does embrace the joy of travel. The camera lingers on the exotic scenery as much as it does on bare chests. In the first episode, the frenzied energy of the Marrakesh medina nearly oozes out of the TV screen. The travelers bumpity-bump-bump on a camel ride in the Atlas Mountains. In Kenya, they witness a tense hunt involving a leopard, a lion and a water buffalo. The scene, however, doesn’t end with a kill but with an urgent request for a bathroom.”

The show follows a Bravo luxury reality travel show called “Below Deck,” which is spending its spring in the Mediterranean. The show also has all the requisite social media support on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
