Some Suppliers Extend Suspensions Until July 1

Some travel suppliers are canceling tours, cruises and rail journeys until through June 30, as the travel industry grapples with the impact of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Globus Family of Brands is suspending all operations until July 1. That includes brands Globus, one of the world’s largest tour operators, Cosmos, Monograms, and Avalon Waterways.

Globus is now allowing all currently booked travelers between March 14 and June 30, 2020 to move travel dates without incurring cancellation fees, land or airline penalties.

The full value paid to us will be provided via a Letter of Credit, redeemable for any future 2020, 2021 or 2022 departure, and is transferrable.

The “Peace of Mind” travel plan also includes an additional bonus credit of up to $200 per person will be in addition to the Letter of Credit, redeemable for any future travel through 2022. There will be a bonus credit of $200 for Avalon Waterways, $100 for Globus and $50 for Cosmos, Escapes by Globus & Monograms.

Viking River Cruise Line, too, has announced it’s extending the suspension of operations through June 30, 2020.

It’s offering a Future Cruise Voucher valued at 125% of the amount paid to Viking. Guests will have 24 months to use your Future Cruise Voucher to make a new reservation on any river, ocean or expedition cruise. If they’re unable to use the voucher, Viking will automatically send a refund equal to the original amount paid to Viking after the voucher expires. These 125% Future Cruise Vouchers will also be fully transferable.

Likewise, Rocky Mountaineer has extended the delay of its 2020 travel season and suspend all train departures until July 1. The season was scheduled to start on April 13.

The Vancouver, Canada-based luxury train operator is offering guests on suspended departures a future travel credit for 110% of the value paid, which can be applied to a new departure in the 2020, 2021 or 2022?seasons. They must be booked before Nov. 30, 2021 to apply.
