AMADEUS River Cruises will introduce a next-generation river ship to its fleet in 2026. The AMADEUS Aurea will feature a heated outdoor pool, as well as an advanced hybrid propulsion system with a high-performance battery.
According to the cruise line, “this vessel embodies a ‘new generation on the river,'” a concept it first introduced with the launch of AMADEUS Nova in 2024.
At nearly 443 feet in length, AMADEUS Aurea will accommodate up to 158 guests as it sails on the Rhine and Danube rivers. Cabins will include 12 balcony suites and 67 exterior cabins, most with drop-down panoramic windows. Highlights will include the open “Café Vienna” gallery, a sun deck with heated pool and Lido Bar, and dedicated massage and fitness areas.
“No other cruise line offers such a seamless blend of luxury and sustainability,” said Marcus Leskovar, executive vice president of AMADEUS River Cruises. “In 2026, we continue our tradition of innovative shipbuilding, further strengthening our commitment to eco-friendly cruising. The AMADEUS Aurea embodies everything our fleet is known for while also showcasing cutting-edge technology that reflects our dedication to sustainable travel.”
Among its sustainability features will be a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system that reduces CO₂ emissions, an advanced control and positioning system, solar panels to generate additional power, and a heat recovery system to optimize energy usage. Special glass paneling will also help control heat loss and temperature fluctuations.
AMADEUS Aurea will join the fleet in May 2026.
