Carnival Corporation has officially announced plans to build a new shoreside destination in Ensenada, Baja California, on Mexico’s Pacific Coast, called Ensenada Bay Village.
The $26 million project, a joint effort between Carnival, ITM Group, and Hutchison Ports ECV, will deliver a guest experience combining “adventure, gastronomy, and relaxation,” located directly next to Carnival’s Ensenada Cruise Terminal.

Here’s what Carnival highlighted about the destination in its news release:
“The destination will include high-energy attractions such as zip lines, river rides, a scenic boat ride, and the signature Dune Rally, as well as chocolate and tequila tastings, Valle de Guadalupe wine and cheese pairings, artisan crafts, and relaxation and wellness experiences including thermal springs, the Baby Beach adult pool area and spa offerings.”

The construction is expected to take 24 months. Once completed, the facility will welcome up to 9,000 visitors per day not only from Carnival ships, but from other cruise lines as well. This development is expected to generate about 350 direct jobs and 800 indirect jobs, delivering more than $120 million in annual economic impact to Baja California.
Ensenada is a consistently popular port for West Coast cruises, typically receiving around 250 to 320 cruise ship calls per year. This week alone will feature calls there from Carnival Radiance, Carnival Firenze, Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas, and Ruby Princess.
