Cruise Lines Cancel Mexico Port Calls
Royal Caribbean Cruises and Disney Cruise Lines have cancelled calls this week to Puerto Vallarta over concerns of continuing civil unrest in the region. The moves come a week after the U.S. State Department issued a travel warning to all Americans “due to threats of safety and security posed by organized criminal groups” in Mexico. Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas, Celebrity’s Infinity, and the Disney Wonder will all skip scheduled calls to the resort town on Mexico’s Pacific Coast. Carnival’s Miracle ship will go ahead with a scheduled stop at the port today, but some shore excursions have been cancelled.
