An eight-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool on Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas on Monday.
The ship was on a seven-night Caribbean sailing out of Galveston when the accident happened.
Like most cruise lines, Royal doesn’t have lifeguards on any of its ships. Disney Cruise Lines added lifeguards to its staff following a near-drowning of a 4-year-old in March 2013.
