Fire Aboard Freedom of the Seas Injures One
A fire broke out on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas early Wednesday, injuring one crew member. The ship was en route to Falmouth, Jamaica, on a seven-night Caribbean cruise sailing out of Miami when the fire started in a mechanical area. The blaze was put out with onboard fire suppression equipment and passengers were sent to evacuation assembly stations aboard the ships. While one crew member was treated for burns, no one else was on board was injured. The ship is now docked at Falmouth and is operating normally.
