First Look: Journey in Jewels, the First Fabergé Egg at Sea
by Daniel McCarthyThis week, Regent Seven Seas officially launched its newest ship, Seven Seas Grandeur.
The ship, the third in Regent’s Explorer Class, comes into service with some of the largest space-to-guest and crew-to-guest ratios at sea, sailing with 548 crew and only 746 guests, spread across 10 decks and 15 different suite categories.
The ship includes Journey in Jewels, a Fabergé Egg, a first for any cruise ship. The egg, which is part of Regent’s partnership with the Fabergé family, including having Sara Fabergé as the ship’s godmother, is the crown jewel of the ship’s multimillion-dollar, prized art collection.
According to Regent, “this one-of-a-kind objet d’art is designed to reflect the stunning beauty of the world’s oceans in their dance with Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ heritage of luxury and perfection.”
