Margaritaville at Sea Drops Pre-Cruise COVID-19 Testing Requirement for Vaccinated Guests

The new cruise line Margaritaville at Sea will not require vaccinated guests to test for COVID-19 prior to sailing starting on July 23.

The cruise line made the announcement on Friday, joining a growing list of others who are altering their health and safety protocols in light of the recent news from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“With the CDC’s removal of the pre-embarkation testing requirement, we are hopeful and pleased that the travel and cruising industries are sailing towards a new normal,” said Oneil Khosa, Chief Executive Officer.

“Margaritaville at Sea’s vaccinated guests will no longer be required to undergo testing prior to boarding, making it quicker and easier than ever to escape to paradise.”

Unvaccinated guests will still have to present a negative antigen test taken within one day prior to departure and the cruise line is still recommending that vaccinated guests get tested, too.

The cruise line will continue to require all crew members to be fully vaccinated.

Margaritaville at Sea launched earlier this year, giving travelers a one-two punch of the iconic Margaritaville lifestyle combined with a two-night voyage to Grand Bahama Island. For travel advisors, the line said it will hold at least one reduced-fare stateroom on every 2022 sailing for travel advisors to experience the all-new cruise brand. The line will also give advisors a variety of onboard perks that include priority check-in and embarkation.
