Norwegian Cruise Line Reveals Details of its Second Prima Plus Class Ship, Norwegian Luna
by Dori Saltzman /Norwegian Cruise Line’s second Prima Plus Class ship, Norwegian Luna, opens for sale today. It will debut in April 2026 with seven-day Caribbean voyages out of Miami.
Accommodating 3,550 guests at double occupancy, Norwegian Luna is a sister ship to Norwegian Aqua, which debuts in March 2025. Both are about 10% bigger (in both physical size and passenger capacity) than the line’s Prima Class vessels, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva.
“Inspired by the relationship between the moon and the tides of the ocean, we are excited to introduce Norwegian Luna as the vessel that perfectly complements her sister ship, Norwegian Aqua,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “The debut of Norwegian Luna truly showcases our ongoing commitment to providing guests more of what they enjoy and value – a brand-new ship with the latest, innovative offerings sailing to the beautiful, tropical destinations of the Caribbean.”
As with all ships in the NCL fleet, Norwegian Luna’s hull art will be unique, featuring a dreamscape inspired by the reflection of moonlight on the water, created by street artist ELLE. (Elle has partnered with brand names like Nike, Reebok, and Ralph Lauren.)
Onboard features
Norwegian Luna will feature the Aqua Slidecoaster, a hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide that debuts on Aqua next year and will be one of the longest and fastest slides at sea. The three-level ride has dual slides and magnetic lifts that propel guests through two different courses that twist and turn around the ship’s funnel.
Another onboard highlights will be a digital complex, the Glow Court, offering a variety of interactive guest activities by day and transforming into a nightclub in the evening.
NCL favorites that will be onboard Norwegian Luna include The Drop, NCL’s 10-story free-fall slide, and the Stadium, an outdoor space offering complimentary games and activities.
Also returning are Ocean Boulevard, the 46,000 square foot outdoor walkway which wraps around the entire ship; Vibe Beach Club, the adults-only, open-air lounge; Infinity Beach; and an expansive, upper pool deck equipped with day beds for soaking up the sun.
Norwegian Luna will also have the all-new three-bedroom duplex Haven Suite, located in the brand’s keycard-access-only complex The Haven. Also featured on Norwegian Aqua, these two-story suites feature a separate living and dining areas, three bathrooms, a large balcony, and three bedrooms.
The Haven, itself will have a sprawling sundeck, an infinity pool overlooking the ship’s stern, an outdoor spa complete with a glass-walled sauna and cold room, two hot tubs, a private lounge, and an exclusive bar.
Food options will include a range of dining venues specific to Prima Plus Class (Sukhothai, a Thai specialty restaurant), the Prima Class (Indulge Food Hall), and signature fleetwide options (Cagney’s Steakhouse, Le Bistro, Onda by Scarpetta, the Sail & Sustain cocktail bar, and others).
Additional guest experiences aboard Norwegian Luna will be unveiled in the upcoming new year.
