Oceania Cruises to Launch First Entirely Gluten-Free Ocean Cruise in 2028

Oceania Cruises will become the first cruise line to launch an entirely gluten-free ocean cruise when it sails aboard Oceania Vista in 2028.

The 12-night roundtrip voyage departs from Southampton on May 31, 2028, with calls in Cork, Dublin, Glasgow, Stornoway, and Edinburgh. The sailing gives guests the opportunity to experience Oceania’s full culinary program without needing to navigate menus or make compromises based on gluten. It’s a significant move from Oceania, which is know for having maybe the best culinary program at sea.

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer at Oceania Cruises, noted that the goal is to “allow guests to relax into their vacation” knowing that all onboard offerings are gluten-free, including freshly baked treats from The Bakery.

The voyage is being launched in collaboration with Celiac Cruise, a gluten-free travel company that organizes dedicated, safe cruise vacations for travelers with celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, and other dietary restrictions. Celiac Cruise was co-founded in 2018 by Maureen Basye, a former healthcare professional, and Connie Saunders, a travel advisor and CEO of Total Travel & Events.
