Royal Caribbean International has extended its suspension of cruise calls to Labadee, Haiti, canceling all scheduled visits through April 2028 as political instability and gang violence persist in the region.
The update affects 44 distinct itineraries across nine ships in the fleet: Adventure of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, Independence of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas, Star of the Seas, and Symphony of the Seas.
In a letter sent to travel advisors last week, Royal Caribbean confirmed that impacted sailings will feature alternative port stops-including Grand Turk, Grand Cayman, Nassau, Cozumel, Costa Maya, San Juan, and ports in the Dominican Republic like Puerto Plata and Samana-or additional days at sea.
Pre-paid shore excursions booked through the cruise line for Labadee are being automatically refunded. Royal Caribbean also stated it will continue to provide financial support to its local Haitian workforce throughout the extended hiatus.
Royal Caribbean hasn’t sent a ship to Labadee since 2024, when the U.S. State Department first issued a Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory for Haiti in March. The Department has consistently reissued that advisory, most recently on July 10, 2026.
