Royal Caribbean Takes Delivery of Second Icon Class Ship

Royal Caribbean took delivery of its second Icon-class ship, Star of the Seas, during a handover ceremony at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland attended by more than 1,250 crew members and cruise linen partners.

The delivery of Star of the Seas marks the transfer of ownership between Royal Caribbean and Meyer Turku. The ship will now make its way from Turku to Cadiz, Spain, where Royal Caribbean will put the finishing touches on it before it sets sail for Puerto Rico and then on to its homeport of Port Canaveral.

Like its sister ship, Icon of the Seas, Star features more than 40 ways to dine, drink, and be entertained across eight neighborhoods including Thrill Island, Chill Island, Surfside, The Hideaway, and others.
