Royal Caribbean International on Wednesday announced that Grandeur of the Seas will sail some Southern Caribbean itineraries starting at the end of 2021.

While the Southern Caribbean is nothing new to Royal, the itineraries will mark the first time Royal Caribbean has homeported out of Barbados.

Grandeur will offer three different itineraries out of the Port of Bridgetown starting in December 2021—Grandeur will sail seven-night Southern Caribbean Explorer itineraries that call on Castries, Port of Spain, Scarborough, Kingstown, Roseau, and St. George’s; seven-night ABC Caribbean Adventure itineraries that include calls at Kralendijk, Willemstad, Oranjestad, and Port of Spain; and a 14-night Ultimate Caribbean itineraries that includes calls at Colon and Puerto Limon.

According to Royal Caribbean Blog, as part of the launch, Royal will offer its guests transportation between the Barbados airport and the Port of Bridgetown cruise terminal. Royal is also planning on offering guest the ability to book outside of 11 months for certain cities.

“After the year the industry and region have had, this is a shining light to look forward to this coming winter season. We have wanted to see for some time more homeporting operations from Barbados, the incorporation of pre- and post-stay vacations which expose cruisers to the best Barbados has to offer and at a regional level, the development of new itineraries that elevates the cruise experience throughout the Caribbean” Barbados Minister of Tourism and International Transport Senator the Hon. Lisa Cummins said.

“We are extremely pleased to extend the welcome mat for Grandeurs of the Seas to Barbados.”

The sailings will officially kick off on Dec. 5.
