Through a new partnership with Accessible Travel Solutions, Silversea Cruises has added a number of new shore excursions specifically for its disabled and senior guests.

Each excursion is designed to cater to travelers with accessibility needs — all include things like wheelchair-accessible vehicles, excursions with step-free access and accessible restrooms, and guides who are well-versed in serving people with special needs.

“We never stop searching for ways to unlock amazing deep travel experiences for our guests, while also delivering exceptional comfort and luxury,” said Silversea’s Director of Shore Excursions Adria Bono.

“From up-close encounters with sea turtles in Grand Cayman to exploring UNESCO World Heritage-listed landmarks in San Juan, these new accessible experiences are sure to bring the world closer to our disabled and senior guests.”

The excursions will be added to nine destinations in the Caribbean and Central America, with more expected to join the roster next year in the Mediterranean. They include:

  • Pitons and Waterfalls in Castries, St. Lucia. Guests get a full day to explore the island, including a trip to the fishing village of Anse La Rate; a stop to see the island’s volcanic spurs called Pitons; and a visit to the Diamond Waterfall at Soufrière’s Diamond Botanical Gardens.
  • Monkey Sanctuary and Iguana Hideout at Roatan Island, Honduras. Guests get to see primates at a local wildlife sanctuary and park.
  • St. Kitts Accessible Tour. Travelers stop at the Brimstone Hill Fortress, Romney Manner, and the Timothy Hill Scenic Outlook.
  • Mayan Experience in Cozumel, Mexico. This excursion takes guests on a guided drive around Cozumel to see sites at the center of ancient Mayan life. It includes a tequila tasting, and free time on an accessible beach.
  • Grenada Accessible Tour. Guests enjoy a panoramic drive through the rainforest; a visit to a local spice market; and a trip to the historic Dougaldston Spice Estate.
