Viking Saturn to Spend Inaugural Season in Scandinavia

by Daniel McCarthy  October 13, 2021
Viking Saturn to Spend Inaugural Season in Scandinavia

Viking today announced its newest ocean ship, Viking Saturn®, will join the company’s award-winning fleet in early 2023. The 930-guest sister ship will spend her maiden season sailing three new itineraries in Scandinavian and Nordic countries. For more information, visit http://www.viking.com.

Viking this week announced that its newest ocean cruise ship, Viking Saturn, will officially debut in early 2023 with a series of itineraries in Scandinavia and Nordic countries.

The 930-guest ship will kick-off its first official season with two 15-day journeys, Iconic Iceland, Greenland & Canada, which runs between New York City and Reykjavik, and Iceland & Norway’s Arctic Explorer, before sailing a 29-day Greenland, Iceland, Norway & Beyond voyage. The ship will then sail Iceland’s Natural Beauty, an 8-day roundtrip journey from Reykjavik.

The ship, the ninth in the fleet when it debuts, will sail 930 guests in 465 staterooms starting in early 2023. It will feature five different stateroom categories, all of which will include a veranda.

Guests will be able to enjoy eight different dining options, all included in the cruise fare, along with complimentary 24-hour room service, Viking’s signature LivNordic Spa, and a number of lounges and bars spread through the ship including the Explorers’ Lounge and Mamsen’s.

The ship will join Viking Polaris, another one of Viking’s new builds that was just floated out. That ship, the second expedition ship from Viking, is scheduled to debut in summer 2022, sailing its maiden season in the Arctic and Antarctica.

Viking’s other expedition ship, and sister ship to Polaris, Viking Octantis, was floated out last December and is set for an early 2022 debut. That ship will sail voyages to Antarctica as well as North America’s Great Lakes.
