The $35 million renovations will begin in August.
The Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo will close while it undergoes a $35 million renovation beginning in August. The resort-wide transformation is scheduled to be completed by December.
All 181 guestrooms, suites and villas will be redesigned and refurnished, and the 15 Canopy Suites built into the hillside will add plunge pools.
The resort also will get three new dining concepts and an all-new Añejo bar and Library lounge serving artisanal rum and spirits. All five restaurants will serve locally sourced organic food, while the resort’s signature restaurant will offer a new farm-and-sea-to-table concept and a showpiece outdoor kitchen.
The project will also update the lobby, including new luxury retail shops, and an enhanced pool area with new luxury cabanas, amenities and programming.
The overhaul of the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica led by owners Gencom is part of a broader transformation of the 1,400-acre Peninsula Papagayo, aiming to create a new eco-luxury vacation destination in Latin America. The more than $100 million plan includes a peninsula-wide network of nature trails, a new sanctuary for the native Macaw species, an enhanced golf club, and a new restaurant and lounge, gourmet grocery market and new yacht charter offerings at the 180-slip luxury marina.
