Disney Adds Private Cabanas At Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World has rolled out five private cabanas at Magic Kingdom—but they cost a cool $691 (plus tax) a day, about the same as six adult park tickets.
Travel agents can reserve them for clients but they are non-commissionable, a spokesperson told TMR, declining further comment.
Located in the Tomorrowland section of the park, each Kingdom Cabana holds up to eight people and comes with in-park WiFi, charging stations, lockers, sunscreen, snacks and drinks, as well as personalized Mickey-ear caps and reserved viewing for fireworks and parades. For an extra cost, a cast member will pick up and deliver food.
Are these practical for Disney-goers? Connie Rush, owner of Creative Getaways LLC, in Silverdale, PA, believes so. In fact, she expects them to sell out quickly—like the park’s other special experiences. But she noted that the luxury tents will be a better fit for returning guests, rather than first-time visitors.
The Kingdom Cabanas aren’t Disney’s first venture into premium add-ons; Disney World’s two waterparks and some of its resorts offer rentable cabanas. Earlier this year, it also began blocking off reserved parking spots and selling them at a higher rate. Disney also offers VIP Tour Services, which can run from $400 to $600 an hour, for a minimum of seven hours.
