Langham Hotels & Resorts to Double Its U.S. Footprint

Langham Hotels & Resorts will be doubling its footprint in the United States over the next three years, adding Dallas, San Francisco, and Santa Fe, plus two not-yet-announced cities, says Simon Manning, vice president of sales and marketing.
Langham already has properties in New York, Boston, Chicago, and Pasadena, along with major global gateways such as London, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, and Shanghai.
Langham Place Wade Park will open in Frisco, Texas, in early 2018 as part of the Wade Park development—a $1.6 billion, 175-acre project created by Thomas Land & Development. The hotel is being designed by 5G Studio Collaborative in Dallas, with a sleek and modern feel.
There will be 35 floors, including 25 hotel floors and 10 floors of residences; 250 guest rooms, including several one- and two-bedroom suites and two 2,906-square-foot Presidential Suites; and more than 25,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, including boutique meeting rooms.
Guests will have access to a rooftop pool deck; a full-service Chuan Body + Soul spa, featuring a menu of body and facial treatments based on Traditional Chinese Medicine; and a courtyard that will be available for outdoor events. A walkway bridge will connect to the office tower and iPic Theaters at Wade Park.
Langham Place San Francisco will be part of the new downtown Transbay Transit Center Project, which promises to become the “Grand Central Station of the West” when it is completed later this year. It’s a $4.5 billion project at the intersection of First and Mission Streets, encompassing 11 separate local and regional transit systems. Langham Hotels and Resorts will bring a full-service luxury hotel to the development in 2019.
The Langham, Bishop’s Lodge, in Santa Fe, formerly Bishop’s Lodge, owned by an affiliate of HRV Hotel Partners, will re-open in spring 2018 after a multi-million dollar renovation. Located in the foothills of New Mexico’s Sangre de Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains, four miles from the Santa Fe Plaza, this historic resort was first opened to the public in the 1920s. But it traces its history back to the 1870s, when it was first settled by Bishop Jean Baptiste Lamy. It will be Langham Hotels and Resorts’ first resort in the United States, on 317 acres, including private stables and riding trails. The renovation will include the demolition and re-modeling of the existing rooms and public areas, as well as new construction to expand the hotel to 139 rooms and suites.
Beyond the United States, Langham this year will open in Haikou on Hainan Island. Two hotels in Dubai and more than a half dozen in China also are in the works.
