New Air Charter Company Promotes Lucrative Sporting Event Commissions
by Richard D’Ambrosio /A Chicago-based charter air company is offering private air service for travelers looking to attend college and professional sporting events, and is offering travel agents commissions of 10%-12% per seat on bookings expected to range between $1,200-$2,200.
Big Game Air subcontracts with about 20 private jet companies to provide direct air service for sporting events, from Chicago, Columbus, OH, Detroit and New York. It is targeting college alumni and professional sports fans traveling to towns with limited commercial air service.
The company estimates seats on its charters, which include in-flights snacks, premium alcoholic beverages, pre-game parties, occasional sports celebrities onboard flights and transportation to and from the game, will cost between $1,200 and $2,200 each. The company partners with SeatGeek to offer event admissions.
Fans will find tickets and air service available for college teams like the Ohio State Buckeyes. Big Game also will market tickets from professional teams and sporting events, including the 2018 NBA All-Star Game in February in Los Angeles and the Super Bowl in Minneapolis.
Big Game hopes to expand to Dallas and Atlanta, and to eventually add in service to concerts, festivals and other non-sporting events.
