Bookings Open for Equinox Hotel at Hudson Yards
by Jessica Montevago /Promising a high-performance setting to support a healthy lifestyle, the Equinox Hotel in Manhattan’s trendy new Hudson Yards complex is now accepting bookings, ahead of its opening in June.
It’s the first hotel offshoot for the luxury Equinox Fitness Club. Following its New York debut, the brand will later expand to Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Chicago, Seattle, and Houston.
Each of the 212 guestrooms, including 48 suites, will feature total soundproofing and a total-blackout window system, a respite from the noisy streets below. Beds will be outfitted with CocoMat all natural fiber mattresses that adapt to individual body shapes and utilize a Scandinavian technique of two separate duvets that enable temperature regulation.
Each room comes with a foam roller, yoga mat, blocks and straps; while the minibar contains a juice press and magnesium-based sleep supplements. Other in-room wellness amenities include access to on-demand IV vitamin drips for an extra boost of energy or hydration, and a media library for streaming a series of stretches.
The hotel will be anchored by the 60,000-square-foot Equinox Fitness Club — designed by London-based and Hong Kong-based Joyce Wang Studio — with floor-to-ceiling windows and top-of-the-line equipment. Guests will become Equinox Fitness Club members for the duration of their stay, with access to signature group fitness classes (ranging from HIIT to yoga and barre), private Pilates, personal training services, as well as a SoulCycle on the ground floor.
Guests can unwind after an intense workout at the 27,000-square-foot spa, where treatments such as cryotherapy, infrared sauna, or Quantum Harmonics therapy emphasize recovery. There will also be a 75-foot indoor saltwater pool, hot and cold plunge pools, and an outdoor pool and terrace with daybeds and views of the surrounding cityscape and Hudson Yards’ soaring landmark staircase called the Vessel.
From high-performance breakfasts and nourishing dinners, nutrition will also play at major role at the Equinox Hotel. On the 24th floor, the signature restaurant and bar by Restaurateur Stephen Starr will serve ingredient-driven seasonal American cuisine. Outside, there is an 8,000-square-foot terrace with views of the city and the river.
