Marriott International on Monday announced that it has officially signed an agreement to debut a new Ritz-Carlton Reserve off the coast of Saudi Arabia, the first property from that brand to debut in the Middle East, and the sixth Ritz-Carlton Reserve global property.

The hotel, called Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, will debut in 2023, on a set of private islands that are part of the Red Sea’s Blue Hole cluster of islands. Ritz-Carlton promises an environment of “unspoiled natural beauty” surrounding the resort.

It will offer 63 rooms ranging from one- to four-bedroom water and beach villas, along with swimming pools, multiple eateries, and a spa. It will also include 18 Ritz-Carlton Reserve branded residences.

“We are thrilled to bring our most luxurious brand, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and its exemplary experience to the Middle East. Perfectly situated on one of the most anticipated regenerative tourism projects in the world, the resort will blend seclusion and sophistication to provide a highly personalized luxury escape,” said Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.

The hotel is part of The Red Sea Project, a regenerative tourism megaproject managed by The Red Sea Development Company that focuses on luxury and ecotourism on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Coast.
