American Airlines is Back in Orbitz

American Airlines’ fares and schedules were reinstated on orbitz.com and its sister site, cheaptickets.com, after the carrier reached a new agreement with Orbitz Worldwide.  American had pulled its content from the online agencies on Aug. 26. American’s merger partner, US Airways, had said it would pull its content on Sept. 1; with the new agreement, it will continue to distribute through Orbitz.

In a statement, Sam Fulton, president of Orbitz.com, said, “We are pleased that our long-standing relationship with American Airlines allowed us to quickly resolve business matters and that we continue to offer a broad range of options, including American Airlines and US Airways flights, to the millions of shoppers who book travel on our global sites each day.”
