With Japan’s borders reopening, Collette has announced it is returning to the country with two Japan itineraries set to begin this November.

“We’re so excited travelers can once again explore Japan,” said Jaclyn Leibl-Cote, president of Collette. “Prior to the pandemic, Japan was one of our most popular destinations. Nearly every departure we offered was sold out. Our product development team just returned from a three-week review of our two itineraries. Our partners – everyone from hotels to restaurants to local guides – and, of course, our tour managers cannot wait to welcome travelers back to Japan.”

Japan: Past and Present
Collette’s newest tour to Japan, this small-group (14 to 24 guests) adventure includes a variety of activities designed to showcase the country’s rich culture, traditions, cuisine and natural beauty. Highlights include overnighting at a Buddhist monastery on Mount Koya; meeting a survivor of one of two Atomic bombs to drop on Japan; joining the Ama pearl divers to hear about this women-only profession; and navigating Tokyo by public transportation to get a taste of local life.

Cultural Treasures of Japan
One of Collette’s most popular tours, this exploration of Japan offers experiences like sake tasting, sushi-making, a geisha show in Kyoto and a tea ceremony.
