Viator Hit By Data Breach
Viator, one of the largest aggregators of destination activities and tours, is notifying its customers that their personal data may have been compromised. Information that may have fallen into criminal hands includes customer name, physical address, encrypted debit/credit card number, card’s expiration date, and Viator account information, including e-mail address, encrypted password and Viator nickname. Some customers’ cards have been used fraudulently. Viator works with travel agents through the ARC Marketplace, a dedicated AAA/CAA Viator website and eContac in Canada. Viator said all customers, including agents and their clients, should reset their Viator passwords and change them on any other sites where they use the same password.
