Lindblad Expeditions Will Require Booster Shots for Guests Starting in March
by Daniel McCarthy /Expedition cruise company Lindblad Expeditions will require all guests over 12-years-old to present proof of booster prior to embarkation if their “primary vaccinated series” was completed more than 5 months prior.
The line, which is accepting any FDA-recommended vaccine along with Astra-Zeneca for non-U.S.-guests, will make the requirement mandatory starting on March 1, 2022.
Lindblad’s health and safety requirements are built with help from its chief medical officer, David B. Lorber, guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the University of Washington, and the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators’ Clean Ships Healthy People.
The line, which restarted sailing in June 2021 after its COVID shutdown, said that the decision was made as it continues to monitor COVID-19 during daily meetings with its health counsel.
With the news, Lindblad becomes ones of the first lines to add a booster requirement, though Spain did announce a booster requirement for some of its land travelers earlier this month.
