Universal Orlando Set To Close This Weekend in Anticipation of Hurricane Irma

Universal Orlando Resort will shut its doors Saturday night through the weekend as Hurricane Irma threatens the Orlando area, the theme park announced Friday afternoon.
Joining Walt Disney World, Universal will close Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7 pm and remained close Sunday and Monday. It expects to return to normal operating hours on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The park was hosting its Rock the Universe event at this weekend. While it will be held tonight, the event will be cancelled on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Saturday ticket holders are welcomed to attend Friday’s performance.
Universal’s on-site hotels are currently at full capacity and will remain operational.
