Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort to Reopen March 1

The grand re-opening for the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort is scheduled for March 1, Wyndham Hotel Group announced Wednesday.

The hotel, which closed due to Hurricane Maria, underwent a multi-million renovation, refreshing public spaces such as the lobby lounge and introducing new dining venues.

It will debut the new Caicu Rum Bar, featuring handcrafted, rum-based cocktails and a selection of rare private reserve batches. Light bites such as Mofongo Bites, Local Red Snapper Ceviche, and Puerto Rican Hummus will be offered as well. Marbella’s $1.2 million renovation included a sleek new design with rustic textures and wooden finished. It will serve a menu of traditional American favorites and Caribbean specialties.

Additional offerings include Palio, an Italian restaurant; Hole in One, offering drinks and bites served by the golf course; and 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, a poolside eatery. Additionally, the resort’s refreshed beachfront Tiki Hut and Pool Bar will double its seating capacity to accommodate upwards of 40 guests.

To support the island’s recovery, one dollar of every room night booked for March and April will be donated to the El Yunque Rainforest Restoration Fund, with the goal of raising $10,000.
