CIE Tours Taps Susan Black As Chief Commercial Officer

CIE Tours International, the Ireland and Britain tour operator, has named travel industry veteran Susan Black as chief commercial officer, a newly created position. Black will be responsible for developing CIE Tours’ commercial and digital strategy, aligning sales and marketing, building programs to elevate the customer experience, and supporting the development and launch of new products and platforms to benefit travel agencies.

Black, who currently has her own consulting firm Black & Wright, most recently served as chief marketing officer for Travel Impressions. She also served as chief marketing officer for CheapCaribbean.com; executive vice president of marketing for GOGO Worldwide Vacations/Liberty Travel; and general manager and publisher of The Official Tour Directory.

“Susan’s background in digital innovation, marketing, sales and business development, together with her deep strategic acumen and singular focus on travel brands makes her uniquely qualified to develop a wide range of commercial opportunities for CIE Tours, ” said Elizabeth Crabill, CIE Tours’ president and CEO.

Black says her new role represents a chance to help CIE Tours identify new commercial opportunities, connect with customers in new ways, and deliver out-of-the-box customer experiences.
