River cruise line AmaWaterways has appointed longtime travel industry executive Donna Cook as its new director of strategic initiatives.

Cook is a graduate of Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and has more than 20 years of experience in public and private sectors. Most recently, Cook served as the vice president of quality control and communications with Crystal Cruises.

In her new role, Cook will be responsible for AmaWaterways’ performance of strategic marketing and sales initiatives.

“I am excited to join the AmaWaterways family and to have the opportunity to work with the sales, marketing and operations teams to continue the growth of this remarkable river cruise product,” Cook said.
