Travelport Improves Hotel Negotiated Rate Loading
by Michèle McDonaldAgencies will have access to more accurate negotiated hotel rate information through a new program of rate audits with suppliers, Travelport said.
The company is streamlining the uploading of hotel negotiated rates by designing and implementing new processes and removing the availability of outdated and duplicated codes.
Up to 25% of hotel negotiated rates are incorrectly uploaded or not loaded at all at initial audit, according to independent research by CWT Solutions Group.
Reasons for inaccuracy
The research found that among the main reasons are:
• The hotel’s failure to load the data into the property management system or central reservations system.
• The rate is not set up correctly or is missing or has inaccurate code information due to outdated and duplicated codes.
• There are multiple processes for uploading data.
Travelport’s new program, which was kicked off in the U.S. and Canada, will be deployed globally later in the year.
