Travelport Signs Multi-Year Agreement and News Tools for Businesses

March 04, 2010

Travelport, World Travel Centre Renew Contract

Travelport signed a new multi-year agreement with World Travel Centre, a leading consolidator based in Dublin, a year before the current contract was slated to expire.

As part of the agreement, Travelport will also provide GDS solutions for two World Travel Centre-owned businesses in Northern Ireland: McNeill Menary Travel and Thriftway Travel, both based in Belfast.

All businesses in the World Travel Centre portfolio will continue to use the Worldspan platform, including Worldspan Go, XML Pro and Travelport Rapid Reprice for improved ticket reissuing. They also will use the Travelport e-Pricing shopping technology when it is rolled out in the U.K. and Ireland later this year.

TripIt Creates Tool for Corporations

TripIt, the itinerary management company, introduced TripIt Groups, a product that allows business travelers to see where and when other employees in their company are traveling.

Users can determine whether other employees will be traveling to the same location; how many employees are traveling during a major weather event; whether some travel could be reduced by waiting until travelers’ plans overlap, and other common issues.

TBiz to offer Integrated Expense Management

Travelocity Business signed an agreement to work with Certify, a provider of online expense management services to small and medium-sized businesses.

Travelocity will integrate with Certify to create a “seamless” travel and expense solution. Certify will offer its clients direct access to Travelocity Business from within the product.
