Seven Leadership Tips to Inspire You from Linda Kaplan Thaler

May 24, 2016

Seven leadership tips from renowned Advertising Executive Linda Kaplan Thaler, taken from her recent webinar with the Travel Institute.

1)      Carry yourself with a moral and ethical attitude. “Nice” isn’t a dirty word.

2)      Be disruptive.

3)      Always pretend you’re the underdog and outwork the competition

4)      Over prepare.

5)      It’s good to feel uncomfortable.

6)      Your job is to work with your disabilities and find a way forward.

7)      Fall forward.

Linda Kaplan Thaler is an American advertising and non-fiction writer, and chair of the ad agency Publicis Kaplan Thaler. She has written and composed advertising jingles such as: “I Don’t Wanna Grow Up, I’m a Toys ‘R’ Us Kid”; “Kodak Moments” and “The Heart of Communication”. She is responsible for the “Yes, Yes, Yes” Herbal Essences campaign, and her agency created the well known Aflac duck advertising. In 1997, she founded the Kaplan Thaler Group, which merged with Publicis New York in July 2012 to form Publicis Kaplan Thaler.
