Britain is linking up with promotions for “The BFG,” Steven Spielberg’s new film based on the Roald Dahl classic children’s book.
VisitBritain on June 20 launched a new “Where Giant Dreams Come to Life” tourism campaign in its first-ever collaboration with Disney, which produced the film.
The BFG, which debuts in the United States on July 1, was filmed at locations across Britain, including Blenheim Palace, London, the Isle of Skye, and Bamburgh beach in Northumberland. Images of those destinations and other visitor experiences across Britain are being promoted across VisitBritain’s online and social media channels adapting its #OMGB social media campaign.
VisitBritain’s $500,000 six-week digital and social media campaign showcases a set of exclusive images of giant landmarks in Britain, including the Angel of the North, Big Ben, the Isle of Skye, and the lions in Trafalgar Square. As part of the campaign, VisitBritain also wants people to upload their own images of “giant” experiences and locations in Britain to their own social channels.
