No Stopping North American Travel To The U.K. In 2017
by Maria Lisella /Travelers heading to London have remained undeterred by recent acts of terrorism as worldwide, 3.7 million visitors have traveled to the U.K. in April, an increase of 19 percent over last year and North American travelers’s visits are also up by 16 percent compared to the same period last year.
These figures come on the heels of a successful 2016 in which VisitBritain reported strong growth from North America -- Canada and the US -- with 4.3 million visits, up 7% over 2015.
Taking the long view, growth during the last six years shows there were 7.5 million more visits in 2016 than 2010 for an increase of 25%. Said Paul Gauger Visit Britain’s Interim Executive Vice President, Americas, “We’re thrilled to continue the momentum from 2016, moving into peak summer season, and showcase why there has never been a better time to visit Britain.”
