The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) is adding two additional FAM trips to its 2023 lineup. They include a trip to the Dominican Republic in August and to Portugal in November. For both, air is provided by Air Canada.

Officially referred to as “experiential learning opportunities,” ACTA’s FAMs give participants the chance to immerse themselves in the culture of a destination, improve their product knowledge, and develop social media business building skills. Advisors who attend a FAM are eligible to receive CE credits, which can be applied to obtaining or maintaining a designation of Certified Travel Consultant (CTC) or Certified Travel Manager (CTM).

Dominican Republic (August 15-21, $300 CAD)
The seven-day trip is based out of Punta Cana with a stays at Majestic Mirage and Bahia Principe Grand Aquamarine. During their stay, advisors will tour several properties, visit La Romana (and tour some of the tourist infrastructure there), and play at the Bavaro Adventure Park, among several other activities. Registration is required.

Alentejo, Portugal (November 13-19, $800 CAD)
This five-day FAM explores all that Alentejo has to offer, with stays at the Convento do Espinheiro, Vila Gale Collection Elvas, and Pousada de Alcacer do Sal. One the ground experiences include visits to several towns and municipalities, wine tasting and making, olive oil tasting, museum visits, and more. Registration is required.
