ASTA, ACTA, and TMR Partner for Canadian Travel Agent Video Contest

Travel Market Report is calling on our Canadian travel agents to help spread the word about the important service you provide—and offering a free cruise for two to the one who does it best. 

We’ve teamed up with the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) and the Association of Canadian Travel Agents (ACTA) to sponsor a contest for the best video under the ASTA theme, “Without a Travel Agent You’re on Your Own!”  

We hope to post some funny, some interesting, some intriguing stories of and by travel agents (or their customers) that together will create a consumer campaign that tells the world just how much it needs you.

All you need to enter is a two-minute video highlighting the value of a travel agent. You can do it—just aim that smartphone at yourself and talk to your potential customers. Or get creative and do something extraordinary. Your video might cover the many ways you help and protect your clients on the road; how you add value to their trip; how you make sure their dream vacation delivers on its promise. Videos can be serious or funny—but not longer than two minutes.  
 
Entries will be judged by a team of ASTA and ACTA representatives, and TMR editor Cheryl Rosen. The judging will be based on creativity, technical merit, adherence to contest requirements, and conveying the theme of the contest.  
 
Of course you can use your videos to promote your agencies when the contest is over, so everyone is a winner! Each agents submitting a video gets free registration to Travel MarketPlace in May.  
 
But in addition, the one we judge to be the best will win a free cruise from Norwegian Cruise Line; the runner-up will receive Big Bark personalized promotional materials plus $1,000CAD in printing services. 
 
The winners will be announced and their videos shown at the Travel MarketPlace conference in Toronto on May 2-3, and we’ll run the videos on the TMR website.  
 
So what are you waiting for? Tap into your inner Spielberg and show us—and your customers—why without you, they really are on their own!
