AmaWaterways Launches New Wellness Program

by Daniel McCarthy

River cruise line AmaWaterways is getting into the health and fitness business with a new wellness program launching onboard AmaLyra Paris and Normandy sailings.

The program is led by “sports scientist” Selina Wank and will feature up to six wellness classes each day including stretching, yoga, cardio, circuit training and core strengthening.

Guests on board—and on shore—will also get to enjoy some healthy eating. AmaWaterways chefs locally-sources all of its ingredients and offers gluten-free, low-sodium and vegetarian options.

The sailings will start on more ships next year and then in 2019 AmaWaterways will debut the first river ship with a water sports platform and expanded fitness facilities, AmaMagna.
