Atlas Travel Brings Tech Co. Under New Umbrella Group
by Michèle McDonald /Atlas Travel in Milford, Mass., launched a new umbrella organization that will house both the agency and Prime Numbers Technology, developer of the Travel GPA “report card” for managed travel programs.
Called Atlas Travel & Technology Group Inc., the company will be led by chief executive officer Elaine Osgood, chief operating officer Lea Cahill, chief financial officer John Hannon and chief information security officer Dan Reagan.
Church and state rules
The two units of the umbrella company will operate under strict “church and state” rules to maintain the integrity of both the travel management company and the vendor.
Osgood founded Prime Numbers along with Rock Blanco, who left the company earlier this year and joined Cornerstone Information Systems.
Jason Gabor, chief technology officer, and Doug Vasquez, vice president, will continue in their roles at Prime Numbers.
They are leading the charge in transforming Travel GPA into “Travel HD,” which takes the original travel report card concept and “catapults it into a more comprehensive product to answer the needs of Prime Numbers Technology customers,” the company said.
Suite of TMC solutions
Meanwhile, on the TMC side of the house, Atlas is working on “a completely new and robust suite of solutions and services” for corporate travel managers and their travelers.
Last year, Atlas became the first TMC to adopt the entire suite of Amadeus One solutions and hired Cahill, who helped develop them at Amadeus, as chief operating officer. It currently is configuring those solutions under the name Atlas Travel Concourse.
