Carnival Cruise Line has signed an agreement to triple the size of the City of Long Beach, CA’s cruise terminal.
The expansion means that Carnival, which has operated the Long Beach Cruise Terminal since 2003, will be able to homeport larger ships at the Californian port.
The agreement also gives Carnival full use of the Geodesic Dome, the former museum that housed Howard Hughes’ “Spruce Goose” attraction.
Construction is expected to start in late 2017, during which Carnival still expects a “continued smooth operational flow” without disruptions for guests embarking from Long Beach.
